Mumbai, Jan 24th: International Institute of Sports Management (IISM) invites you to a launch of an album “Sports Heroes” a grand initiative dedicated to inspire our young generation to play sport. For the first time ever, eight sports legends have come together to sing the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana”. The album will be unveiled to the nation by Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar on 24 January 2016 at Taj Lands’ End, Bandra West Mumbai.
IISM is the country’s first Sports Management Institute launched in 2010. Started by Nilesh Kulkarni, former India and Mumbai left arm spinner, along with wife Rasika, we have, for the first time ever, got together eight of India’s “Sporting Heroes” to sing the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana”.
The mission of this project titled ‘Sports Heroes for the Nation’, was to initiate youngsters in India to take up sports and be out and about, instead of being chained to their e-gadgets at all times. To achieve this India’s Sports Heroes Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Mahesh Bhupathi, Sania Mirza, Sushil Kumar, Dhanraj Pillay, Gagan Narang and Baichung Bhutia have extended their support. The video has been directed by noted Director Abhijit Panse & music director Ram Sampath.
We invite you to this special event on 24 January 2016 at 10:30 am at Taj Lands’ End, Bandra West, Mumbai. This date coincides with the 66th anniversary of the National Anthem being incorporated into India’s constitution by our first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
Through the video IISM is hoping to spread the message about sport being a game changer in a country’s destiny in every way possible. To tie in the passion generated by the magic of sports, India’s National Anthem is the perfect glue to bring us all together. The biggest diamond may be hidden inside a huge mine! To discover the hidden gem, you have to dig deep and keep a watchful eye. About 68% of India’s population lives in rural areas. Our next sporting giant could be from a small corner of this huge nation. Unknown to us, that potential star could be honing his skills on a maidan sans basic facilities. Our movement endeavours to unearth such gems; to provide them a stage where they can bring glory to the nation. Our sporting heroes embody that sentiment as they sing our national anthem.
Ultimately, we shall be happiest when this message reaches out to millions of Indians as we believe “Apne bachon ke pairon ko, apne desh ki mitti lagne do”.
