Govt. of India appoints PiruzKhambatta ambassador of “Make in India”
Mumbai,15th February 2016: PiruzKhambatta, Chairman and Managing Director of Rasna, has been appointed the ambassador of the “Make in India” initiative by the Government of India.Rasna, the leader in the concentrated drinks category and the largest manufacturers of instant powder in the world, has been a stellar example of an outstanding “Made in India” global iconic brand.
Welcoming the announcement and elated at being appointed the Ambassador for the initiative, PiruzKhambatta, Chairman and Managing Director, Rasnasaid, “It is a very proud moment for all of us at Rasna. This would start with immediate effect with the implementation of 100% indigenous purchase and utilization of Raw and Packaging material as well as other procurement purchase in 2016.”
Rasnahas also committed to support Indian SMEs by enhancing its purchase from SMEs from a current 50% approximately to over 70% going forward. Similarly, Rasnawill also provide support to entrepreneurs who wish to come up with turnkey plants to manufacture food products that Rasnacan market under its brand on contract manufacturing basis. Additionally, the company will also tie up with packaging material suppliers dedicated to Rasna with a focus on the Make in India initiative in mind.
MrKhambatta added, “Rasnawill foster and mentor startups as part of the Make in India initiatives. We are extremely keen to work with young entrepreneurs and I will be personally engaging with young entrepreneurs to guide and coach them to create profitable business ventures that are in sync with the initiative.”
Rasna has also started a new state of the art manufacturing facility at Hyderabad in January, taking the total number of Rasna world-class manufacturing facilities to 9, all India.
