International Day of Yoga 21st June 2016

Yoga is the cultural heritage of India, benefits of which are being reaped by the whole world. Yoga is a process of progress at your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. The United Nations has declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga, thus giving all of us an opportunity to collectively celebrate, practice and promote this great science of harmony of our body, mind and spirit.

Kaivalyadhama, started in 1917 and established at Lonavla in the year 1924, is a place where the founder Swami Kuvalyananda initiated scientific research in Yoga. Today, the institute thrives, its four dimensions. Understanding the fundamental concepts of this great subject through philosophico- literary research, verification of this understanding through the scientific research, educating the curious and interested through training and application of Yoga as health and healing through Yoga therapy.

This year, Kaivalyadhama has been working together with the Ministry of AYUSH in the committee formed to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2016. Kaivalyadhama believes that the celebrations should not be only one day, but we should have immersion in the practice. The institute therefore has organized a 36 hours program where each person was / is being trained in practice and theory.

We have conducted 36 hours training at various places

1.University of Mumbai – 100 teachers, they will go and train their students.

3.Indian Coast Guard – Worli Mumbai

4.MG University Kerla, 229 colleges, one from each college.

On June 21st 2016 Kaivalyadhama will hold celebrations at 50 places , some of the important once are

1.Raj Bhavan – IDY Celebrations will be inaugurated by Hon Governor Shri.Ch.Vidyasagar Rao in Raj Bhavan at 6.00 a.m. Hon’ble Governor will inaugurate and participate in the Yoga class.

2.Kaivalyadhama Mumbai, Marine Drive – 350 yoga sadhak will participate in the IDY Celebrations at Marine Drive for which Hon Chief Minister

Shri.Devendra Phadnavis has been invited.

3.Kalina Campus, University of Mumbai – 500 students and yoga sadhak will participate in the celebrations in the indoor stadium. Hon Governor

Shri.Ch.Vidyasagar Rao will participate in the function. Vice Chancellor Dr.Sanjay Deshmukh, Registrar Shri.Khan and CEO of Kaivalyadhama

4.Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Kalikho Pul

Hon’ble Chief Minister presides over the function at capital in presence of Shri.O.P.Tiwari, Hon Secretary of Kaivalyadhama Lonavla

5.Kaivalyadhama Lonavla will conduct celebrations with Lonavla Municipal Council for the citizens of Lonavla – Kdhandala.

6.Commissioner office Pune will conduct the celebration with around 2000 personnel with teachers from Kaivalyadhama

7.Delhi – 2000 persons of Indian Coast Guards will practice near India Gate and NOIDA.
