National, November 6th, 2016: The forever faster global sportswear brand PUMA, along with 1623 women broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of people holding the abdominal plank for 60 seconds attempted by women at the Jio Garden in Mumbai today as part of their ‘DoYou’ Campaign.
The event was a culmination of PUMA’s Do You campaign which was kick-started by RJ Malishka and VJ Shibani Dandekar, who charged up the participants with their infectious energy and helped them practice the abdominal plank and build their core strength. There was also a fun-filled Zumba session with international Zumba education specialist Sucheta Pal. Popular band The Other People kept the women at the venue grooving to their foot tapping numbers.
The event was led by several women achievers, across various fields including PUMA training expert, Jacqueline Fernandez, Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik, actor Kalchi Kolchain, singer Anushka Manchanda and Everest twins Tashi & Nungsi Mallik. There were many other influencers present at the event, who also held the abdominal plank for 60 seconds while attempting the record.
It was definitely a sight to behold as women from different walks of life came together and broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the most number of women to hold the abdominal plank for 60 seconds at Jio Gardens, BKC, as a part of PUMA’s India leg of their Do You Campaign!
On 11th October’16, on the occasion of International Girl Child Day, PUMA had launched DO YOU – a movement with women at the core of it. Launched internationally last month, the campaign aimed to inspire confidence in women across the Globe to do what they want to do. “#DOYOU” is all about expressing your core strength that stems from your inherent beliefs and individuality. Through this campaign PUMA encouraged women to follow their instincts and find their best self, to DO YOU and be who YOU are, unapologetically.
The rebellious model and actress Cara Delevingne helmed the movement globally; PUMA India has fitness addict Jacqueline Fernandez, avid marathoner Lisa Haydon, Olympic wrestling maven Sakshi Malik, and a host of other women achievers lending their voices and their stories for the Indian leg of the campaign. Some of the other incredible women involved have been, the Everest sisters Tashi and Nungshi Malik, musician Anushka Manchanda, international Zumba education specialist Sucheta Pal, supermodel Ujwalla Raut, actress Kalki Koechlin, fitness and nutrition specialist Nidhi Kamal Mohan, and professional golfer Sharmila Nicollet.
